ELYSSA YOOS LCSW-R, OWNER AND DIRECTOR

LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

Elyssa Yoos is a seasoned Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Owner and Director of Solutions Counseling Center. She earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Adelphi University in 1997 and has over 25 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families across various settings. 

Elyssa began her clinical training at The Ministries in Coram and Family Counseling Service in Westhampton Beach. She then spent several years as a School Social Worker at The Opportunity Preschool (TOPS) in Hauppauge, where she worked closely with children with developmental disabilities and their families. 

In 1999, Elyssa launched a private practice in Port Jefferson Station, while continuing her work at TOPS. In 2005, she relocated her practice to Commack, where she continues to serve the community. In 2013, recognizing a growing demand for comprehensive, high-quality care, Elyssa transitioned her solo practice into a thriving group practice, now known as Solutions Counseling Center. 

Elyssa specializes in working with young adults (ages 18–25), adults, and couples. Her therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, Behavior Modification, Systematic Desensitization, Solution-Focused Therapy, Marital Counseling, Parent Training, and Stress Management Techniques. 

Known for her practical, empowering style, Elyssa frequently uses phrases such as “Stop and Think,” “Take control of your emotions—don’t let them control you,” and “Train your brain” to help clients build resilience and achieve meaningful progress. 

Elyssa is an in-network provider for most major insurance plans. 

 

 

NANETTE GINGO, LCSW-R LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

Nanette Gingo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over four decades of experience providing compassionate and effective psychotherapy. She earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from New York University in 1982 and has since dedicated her career to helping individuals navigate life’s emotional challenges.

Nanette specializes in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, family conflict, marital distress, grief, and anger. Her therapeutic style is interactive, collaborative, and adaptive—tailoring interventions to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.

Guided by the belief that therapy should offer insight, support, and hope, Nanette empowers clients to identify their strengths, foster personal growth, and make meaningful changes. Her approach helps individuals find clarity and resolution in the midst of life’s difficulties.

Nanette participates with most major insurance plans.

JESSICA TANNENBAUM, LCSW

LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

Jessica holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Master of Social Work from Hunter College. She brings a wealth of experience working with diverse populations across a variety of clinical, residential, and hospital settings.

Jessica has served in leadership roles within nonprofit organizations and residential treatment facilities supporting young adults with serious mental illness, as well as survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. In hospital settings, she has conducted psychiatric evaluations, provided intensive psychotherapy, crisis intervention, safety planning, and case management.

Currently, Jessica is a Primary Therapist at the NYC Children’s Center Queens Day Treatment Program, where she provides individual, family, and group therapy to adolescents. This program—developed in partnership with the NYC Department of Education—offers comprehensive mental health and academic support for high school students with complex needs.

Jessica previously held a Rape Crisis Counselor certification through the New York State Department of Health and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with an additional specialization in child and adolescent trauma. She has received formal training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) from Behavioral Tech and holds DBT certification through Evergreen Certifications.

Since 2020, Jessica has been a valued clinician at Solutions Counseling LCSW PLLC, where she provides psychotherapy to teens, adults, and families. Her clinical focus includes mood disorders, anxiety, impulsivity, and life transitions.

Jessica is dedicated to creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can safely explore their emotions and experiences. She uses a client-centered, humanistic, and strength-based approach, integrating elements of DBT and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients develop practical coping strategies and achieve their therapeutic goals.

JACKIE SABATINO, LMSW

LICENSED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER WITH A SPECIALIZATION IN EARLY CHILDHOOD MENTAL HEALTH

Jackie is a Licensed Master Social Worker with specialized expertise in early childhood mental health. She holds a Master of Science in Infant Mental Health and Developmental Practice (MS-IMHDP) and a Master of Social Work (MSW), both from Adelphi University.

In addition to her role at Solutions Counseling, Jackie serves as a Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) worker and an Other Licensed Professional (OLP) clinician at Hope for Youth. Her diverse clinical experience spans preschools, hospitals, agencies, and nonprofit organizations. Early in her career, she was actively involved in advocacy work, including her participation in the 12th Annual Battered Mother’s Custody Conference during her undergraduate studies at Siena College.

Jackie works with children of all ages, adolescents experiencing anxiety and depression, and parents facing parenting-related stressors. She has extensive experience supporting families navigating challenges such as childhood trauma, postpartum depression, teen pregnancy, child loss, and complex developmental or behavioral concerns.

Using evidence-based approaches, Jackie provides therapy for children and families impacted by trauma, clinical diagnoses, and developmental challenges. Her expertise includes supporting children with developmental delays, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, sensory difficulties, medical trauma, domestic violence exposure, and familial substance use. Jackie is trained as a Circle of Security facilitator and is skilled in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), the Pyramid Model, and Multidimensional Family Therapy. She strongly believes that effective child therapy is a collaborative process involving caregivers and treatment providers.

A highly empathetic and client-centered clinician, Jackie is dedicated to ensuring that every individual has access to quality mental health resources and support. Her mission is to provide clients with the tools, coping strategies, and psychoeducation they need to heal, grow, and thrive.

ANDREA KELTOS, LMSW

LICENSED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER

Andrea Keltos is a Licensed Master Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from Stony Brook University, where she specialized in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her clinical experience spans school-based programs, private practice settings, and community mental health services.

Andrea has expertise in treating a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, autism spectrum disorders, and mood dysregulation. She employs an integrative therapeutic approach that draws from client-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused techniques.

Andrea focuses on helping clients navigate change, loss, and interpersonal conflict while building skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and relationship development. She is deeply committed to fostering a strong therapeutic alliance and offers a warm, supportive environment where clients feel safe, heard, and empowered to grow.

CHRIS ROSS, LMSW LICENSED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER

Chris Ross is a Licensed Master Social Worker who earned both his bachelor’s degree in psychology and Master of Social Work (MSW) from Adelphi University. He brings a broad range of clinical and community-based experience to his practice, having worked in hospital settings such as South Oaks Hospital, as well as in vocational and outreach programs supporting young adults with developmental disabilities and underserved populations.

Chris has experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults facing challenges related to depression, anxiety, ADHD, self-harming behaviors, life transitions, and social anxiety. He utilizes a client-centered and integrative approach that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, behavior modification, and strength-based techniques.

Known for his calm presence and empathetic nature, Chris creates a safe and welcoming space where clients feel heard, supported, and understood. He works collaboratively with clients to explore difficult emotions, develop effective coping strategies, and achieve meaningful personal goals. Chris is passionate about helping individuals uncover their inner strengths and build the skills necessary to create lasting change.

BARBARA TIERNO, LMSW

LICENSED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER

Barbara earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY Old Westbury and her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Adelphi University. She has extensive experience supporting individuals, couples and families through challenges such as anxiety, depression, and life transitions working in diverse settings such as hospital emergency departments, rehabilitation centers, and outpatient programs.

Barbara provides a person-centered therapeutic approach, offering support from young adults through the geriatric population. She focuses on helping clients develop coping skills, build resilience, and access their inner strengths using evidence-based practices such as Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

With empathy at the forefront, Barbara’s goal is to create a safe, nonjudgemental environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to move confidently toward positive change.

JENNIFER DOUGHERTY, LMSW

LICENSED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER

Jennifer earned her Master of Social Work from Fordham University in New York City. She has experience working with diverse populations across inpatient psychiatric hospitals, long-term residential facilities, and outpatient clinical settings. Jennifer is also a licensed attorney in New York. Her legal background helped inspire her passion for mental health and wellness. 

Jennifer views the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of effective treatment. She fosters trust, respect, acceptance, and collaboration, and approaches sessions with calm presence, non-judgment, and empathic curiosity. She believes clients possess an innate capacity for healing and is deeply committed to supporting that process.

Jennifer uses an integrative, trauma-informed, person-centered approach drawing from leading evidence-based modalities, including CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic therapy, and somatic interventions. She has completed certification courses in both the Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT).

Her experience includes working with adults (18+) experiencing symptoms related to life transitions, trauma, chronic or terminal illness, grief and loss, LGBTQ+, OCD, anxiety, and depression. Jennifer also works with couples, helping them improve communication, deepen connection, resolve conflict, and build more resilient, fulfilling relationships in a safe and supportive environment.
